MiniZoo [Work in Progress]
We now collect mini apps. Mini apps run within host applications such as WeChat, Alipay, Baidu, and Telegram, providing services without requiring users to install separate native apps.
Their growing ecosystem has attracted research on software quality, security, and privacy, creating a need for reusable datasets. MiniZoo is being developed as a common research resource, building on AndroZoo's experience in the Android ecosystem.

WORK IN PROGRESS
As of November 2026, there are 14,621 mini apps.
What Are We Collecting?
At the moment, MiniZoo collects only WeChat mini apps (more platforms will be supported in the future). Each package is preserved in WeChat's .wxapkg package format, with associated metadata stored as JSON records in the archive. A mini app may be represented by multiple collected versions.
| Group | Representative information |
|---|---|
| Identity | AppID, input-record ID, public-record ID, name |
| Description | Category, description, developer, rating, public URL, icon URL |
| Package | SHA-256, MD5, size, local path, reported app version |
| Acquisition | Collection time, device, selection mode, status, error |
| Provenance | Source query, metadata sources, device-cache path, source run, hash-check status |
How to Download the Mini Apps?
The mini-app packages and their associated metadata are distributed in one tar.gz archive.
The archive will be available only to registered AndroZoo users. A valid API key will be required for every download.
curl -G -d apikey=${APIKEY} 'https://androzoo.uni.lu/api/get_minizoo_file'
Description of the file:
[1] minizoo-full.tar.gz: Contains every collected WeChat mini-app package in .wxapkg format and its associated metadata in JSON format. There can be several versions for one mini app.
Size: 10.92 GB compressed (as of November 2026).
The archive will be updated nightly, before 06:00 Luxembourg/Paris time, to include newly collected mini-app packages and metadata.
